Guest - Julie Farmer
My guest today on Stories Connect People podcast is one that will touch your heart. Julie Farmer is truly an angel. She helped hundreds of people change their life. She found her calling 10 years ago when she began helping immigrants with their journey to becoming an American Citizen.
You will hear also from a very special guest, Marc. Marc was an immigrant from Africa. He came to the US at the of 25 with a Green Card. Marc couldn't speak a word of English, had no money, zero resources, was homeless for weeks and while he was working two jobs PT jobs trying to save some money he was waiting until his co-workers left at night so he could climb into the dumpster to get food.
But one day he met an angel, her name was Julie Farmer. Hear how Julie and her whole family welcomed Marc into their life and supported his journey as he learned to speak English, learned to drive, got his citizenship and went on to college to become a registered nurse. He now works in the ICU at Emory Hospital.
Julie Farmer teaches Citizenship classes through the Catholic Charities organization.
